A rare Holy Land Middle Bronze Age chalice/goblet with a high hollow stem base and a sharply carinated profile. An elegant piece finely potted in white clay. Width 19 cms, height 8.7 cms. Found in Samaria north of Jerusalem, Israel. Intact apart from minor chipping to the delicate rim and a firing crack in the centre which occurred when the piece was made some 3500 years ago.
