This is a rare and heavy (19.25 grams) piece of Middle Bronze Age gold bullion hack, dating to 1300 - 1150 B. This would have originally formed part of a very impressive gold torc (neck torque) of a flange-twisted type (see NMS-5E3BC2 and CAM-E5D871 for similar examples). These torcs are often found damaged and purposefully chopped up like this piece see DOR-324B57, HAMP-C8DC02, DOR-FACB19 for comparisons and further research can be found in the British Museum Collection.
