A complete bronze bracelet - bangle which has LINES - ZIG ZAGS - HERRINGBONE like decoration and stubby flared little terminals. It has a little bit of bronze disease and has been hand made.. It is not the same dia all the way along it. It is 75.5mm widest point outside edge x 62.7mm dia inside at the widest part. The widest part of the bracelet is 7.2mm and the terminals are slightly splayed at the ends and these are 6.8mm dia. One of the splayed terminals is broken off in antiquity. This is one of a number of "Eyes Only" and metal detector finds that were found over a period of years by the late Mr Chris Martins (1947 - 2018) of Helperby Manor Estate near York in North Yorkshire on h is own land. Field walking and metal detecting. He often reported his finds to which there are a number that have been illustrated and published in various magazines and books over the years. The late " Old yellowbelly " illustrated and identified a number of the finds during the period as well. He found artefacts from all periods including Stone Age - Neolithic - Bronze Age - Celtic - Roman - Viking - Saxon - Medieval - Georgian - Victorian and right through to modern items of course. I will be listing them in due course. Some may be common and others rare but all are very interesting and have been well looked after since they were found. Some finds have been treated with a waxy - oily like substance which helps prevent them from deteriorating. Some are "as found" as well.
