Antique Metal Stallion Horse Statue Sculpture Aged Brass Bronze Color
This unique statue of a handsome stallion depicted mid-stride atop rocky terrain was created sometime in the late 1800searly 1900s. Although it was originally designed as a top ornament for adorning a mantel clock, it could also be displayed as a standalone decorative object for your mantel piece, shelf , desk or pedestal. These classy figural clock toppers were especially common in the late 19th & early 20th century, and were typically cast from spelter/pot metal. The sculpture itself is really quite beautifully done with ornate details on the saddle, bridle and breast collar & intricately carved mane and tail hair as well.
The body appears to be more of an antique gold/brass tone a few shades lighter in comparison to the slightly darker bronze color base, which provides a subtle contrast noticeable only in certain lighting. You'll also notice the presence of lovely'age spots' scattered all over, which not only adds character to the piece, but also adds to its overall aesthetic appeal. Attractive as he is, he would certainly make a splendid addition to your decor and a magnificent showpiece in the home or workplace.
