Of heavily burnished redware, this large piriform storage jar features a wide mouth, a short everted rim, large sloped shoulders, and a flat base. Dimensions: Height: 9 3/4 inches (25 cm), Width: 8 1/4 inches (20.9 cm). Condition: Broken and professionally rejoined, with light cosmetic overpainting over the joins. Provenance: Private New York collection, acquired from Lenny Wolfe, Jerusalem, in the 2000s.
