5th 3rd century B. C. Excavated Iron Age Celtic Gallic bronze buffer-type torc
This is a rare and original Celtic La Tene bronze torque (of a buffer-type) dating to the 5th - 3rd century B. It retains one of the disc-shaped finials, still attached to the plain band hoop. Such a torque would have been worn around the neck by a Celtic warrior. This example is in excavated condition. 5th - 3rd century B. 158mm x 143mm x 4.79mm (roundel 25.45mm x 5.80mm). Formerly in a private collection, Narbonne. This item is unconditionally guaranteed to be ancient and to date from the period described. A certificate of authenticity will be supplied on request.
